The Cashmere Care Guide
Cleaning and caring for your cashmere items can be tricky, and making mistakes may spoil or even ruin your precious clothes. However, we're here to help!
Follow our handy guide to help keep your cashmere in tip-top condition:
1. Hand washing
Always hand wash cashmere with a cashmere shampoo or mild detergent at a maximum temperature of 30 degrees. Turn your cashmere inside out before machine washing to preserve their softness.
2. Machine washing
With machine-washable cashmere, make sure you put it on a wool or delicate cycle. Plus - as above with hand washing, consider using a cashmere shampoo.
3. Dry cleaning
The best way to dry your cashmere is to lay your garment flat in an airing cupboard or on a flat surface for 24hrs.
4. Drying
If your cashmere has been hand washed or machine washed we suggest you roll it in a dry towel to soak up the excess water and then lay your cashmere in a suitable place away from direct sunlight to air dry. Do not tumble dry cashmere!
5. Steaming
We recommend steaming cashmere with a steam iron for the best and safest finish, as opposed to ironing which may crush or flatten the natural pile of the yarns and pull the garment out of shape.
